MINISTRY MISSION
OUR MISSION IS TO MEET THE SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL NEEDS OF ALL OF THE KNOWN SICK MEMBERS AND FAMILY CAREGIVERS OF FIRST BAPTIST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH TO THE BEST OF OUR GOD GIVEN ABILITIES AND WITH THE AID OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Current Activities
- Visiting, making phone calls or mailing bulletins, Our Daily Bread booklets and/or get well cards to members or non-members of FBCC at the hospital, nursing home or at home when they are ill or unable to get out to church.
- Visits from Sunday School classes, Bible classes or Ministries to those who are at the nursing home or their home when they are ill or unable to get out to church.
- Visits, calls or cards to the recently bereaved and their family members.
- Witnessing to non-believers in your own home or someone else’s home.
Proposed Activities
- Calling or writing to those who may be incarcerated.
- Calling or writing to those who may be away at college.
- Offer help with shopping and errands for the homebound. (Some members may already be doing this.)
- Offer of assistance with paperwork or outside business resources for the homebound. (Some members may already be doing this.)
- Offer light housework help for the homebound. (Some members are already doing this.)
- Bring cooked meals to the homes of the homebound and bereaved. (Some members are already doing this.)
- Offer the family caregiver a break for a designated number of hours or days.
- Offer to assist family members with resources for a dying loved one; such as hospital recommendation or hospice care recommendation.
- Offer to assist family members with funeral arrangements.
- Offer to assist family members after the funeral and burial once other assistance has diminished.
Resources:
Most of the work of the Home Fellowship Ministry is being done through the Fellowship Teams by their designated team members. There has been and will continue to be a lot of overlap as far as who will participate in these kinds of care giving activities. All are welcome to participate as the Lord leads.
