Y-FOCUS
Goal:
To equip FBCC teens to become sound biblical students who effectively impact their world academically, socially and culturally.  To provide a well rounded learning experience that helps to prepare them for ministry in the professional world and congregational setting.

Principles we Practice: Humility, Self-Control, Respect, Discipline and Determination Meeting

Time: Monday Nights (Primarily) 700PM until 900PM

What Do We Do: -Thematic Biblical Teachings Each Month i.e. Education, Conflict Resolution, Fruit of the Spirit, Love, How to Study the Bible, Financial Stewardship, etc.

  • Homeless Feedings and Thanksgiving Gala for Homeless -Parent Appreciation Dinner
  • Midwest Missionary Baptist Youth Conference
  • Career Readiness/Interview Training
  • Sports Ministry
  • Youth Weekend/ Baccalaureate Service
  • Honors Brunch (Quarterly)
  • Health Awareness Classes (HIV, Personal Care/Hygiene)
  • Personal Counseling (Grief, Anger Issues, Conflict Issues
  • V.B.S. for Teens
  • FUNdraisers-Skating, Great America, Bulls Game, UIC Game and more.
  • Newly Formed Y-Worship and Y-Praise

How Do We Fulfill our goal:

We focus on the Word of God and apply it to real life situations. For example, anger management, relationships, what does the Bible say about love, overcoming addictions, fighting temptations, being Christlike in a cruel world, peer pressure, making healthy and wise choices, effectiveness of prayer, how do you deal with abuse verbally or physically?  Are we to witness and let our life be a living testimony?

We act this out through:
Special Guest Teachers, Small Group Break Out Sessions, Small Skits, and Team Building Activities Teachings by Youth Minister and Adult Workers
